Franklin River Exhibition – No Dams 40 Year Anniversary

Exhibition and Shows

26 Jun 2023 to 30 Jun 2023 Once Only Event

1 July 1983, in a landmark decision, the High Court of Australia rules in favour of saving the mighty FRANKLIN river. The ruling ends the Franklin dam construction and produces a positive outcome for the NO DAMS campaign.

40 years on, the FRANKLIN still runs free and it is thanks to those who campaigned tirelessly to peacefully succeed in the struggle to let the Franklin flow.

The Paragon Theatre in hand with the Wilderness Society and other local contributors, have curated an exhibition based on the timeline of the Franklin controversy. You’re invited to relive some of these moments and share in the emotion, perseverance and natural wonder of world heritage wilderness that could have been lost forever.
