Monkey Mia Airport, also known as Shark Bay Airport, makes it easy to get to one of the world’s best and most reliable places for close encounters with wild dolphins. From here, you’re also just a short hop from many other wonders of World Heritage-listed Shark Bay.

It’s a two-hour flight from Perth to reach Monkey Mia Airport. Hire a car or book a transfer and take the 18-minute ride east to Monkey Mia and its world-famous resident dolphins, or make Denham your base – just 10-minutes away.

Scenic flights from the airport offer some of the most incredible aerial views of Shark Bay’s iconic pindan earth, pristine white sand beaches, clear turquoise waters teeming with marine life and even a pink lake.

Tours take in one of the most important wilderness areas in Australia, Francois Peron National Park, as well as the striking landscapes of Dirk Hartog Island, Steep Point and Zuytdorp Cliffs. From the air, you can often spot dugongs grazing on the seagrass – the bay is home to the world’s largest population of dugongs.
