Only one hour from Melbourne, this region boasts beautiful beaches and popular seaside towns, but also offers a range of indulgent activities like thermal water hot springs, horse-riding and golf. There is a surprise waiting around every corner.

Oceania Tours will spoil you with breathtaking views, allowing you time to walk down to the beach, take photos and breathe in the fresh sea air.

This tour will take you along the bay to to the town of Mornington to see the pier and the iconic beach boxes while you enjoy some morning tea on the sand. You will continue your panoramic tour with a visit to Sorrento and Portsea, historic settlement towns where today, the rich and famous of Melbourne have their holiday houses.

Continue to Peninsula Hot Springs to enjoy a bath in the thermal waters and a delicious lunch. Echuca (and its twin town across the river Moama), is synonymous with Victorian colonial heritage and is known as the capital of paddle steaming. On this relaxing day out, you will stop in the opulent city of Bendigo and travel on a paddle steamer to explore the Murray River from Echuca.

Your expert guide will firstly take you to one of Victoria’s famous gold-rush era cities, Bendigo. The city boasts an incredible array of heritage buildings, historical and cultural museums, art galleries and a bustling cosmopolitan food and wine scene. Your guide will introduce you to Bendigo and you will have some time to explore the city on your own.

Next, it’s a short trip to arrive in Echuca, previously host to a bustling riverine trade, and now a beautiful tranquil town lined with quaint heritage buildings and lively shops and cafés.

Your unforgettable day will commence with a visit to Moonlit Sanctuary Conservation Park where you are guaranteed plenty of close encounters with an array of Australian native animals.

You will then head to Phillip Island where, time/season permitting, we will take you to Woolamai Surf Beach to catch a glimpse of the awesome waves and die-hard surfers. You’ll then travel over to the dramatic west coast of the island.

At the Nobbies, you will stroll along the boardwalk to experience the waves crashing along this dramatic coastline and perhaps spot a few seals and some penguin nests.

A trip to Phillip Island is not complete without its black tie gala event: the Penguin Parade. You will head to the Visitor Centre to shop, have a coffee and meander along the boardwalk to the viewing platform where you will see the little penguins come ashore, decked out in their tuxedos as they hurry off to find their burrows.

Oceania Tours’ tour to the Yarra Valley will take you to the top wineries to taste some of the finest wines in Australia and to enjoy a delicious two course lunch.

On this special tour, they also include a visit to Healesville Sanctuary to encounter Australian wildlife at close hand. And for young visitors (and the young at heart), they highly recommend a ride on the historic Puffing Billy railway through the Dandenong Ranges.

However, although all of these items can be packaged into a day tour, it should be noted that a ride on Puffing Billy will take three hours and so careful planning will be necessary if you wish to include this in your itinerary. But above all, this is your tour and you decide how you want to spend the time and which items to be included.
