The Laneways Discovery Running Tour will take you through some of the city’s most iconic and interesting laneways, giving you a unique perspective on the city’s rich history and culture.
Start off at 8:00am at Federation Square and head to Hosier Lane, a famous street art hotspot where you’ll see colorful murals and graffiti created by some of Melbourne’s most talented artists. From there, we’ll head to ACDC Lane, named after the iconic Australian rock band, where you’ll find more street art and live music venues.
Next, you’ll make your way to Birrarung Marr, a beautiful park along the Yarra River that offers stunning views of the city skyline. Here, you’ll learn about the story of Melbourne and how it has evolved into the bustling metropolis it is today.
You’ll then continue on to the Mitre Tavern, a historic pub that has been serving locals and tourists alike for over 150 years. You’ll hear about the tavern’s storied past.

The Yarra Sunrise Running Tour begins at Federation Square, Melbourne’s cultural hub and home to a variety of world-class events, restaurants, bars, and specialty stores. From there, you’ll run through Birrarung Marr and towards the MCG, and explore the sporting precinct.
Next, you’ll make your way across the Yarra River to the Tan Track and run up the Anderson Street hill – a street that many Melbourne runners love but hate. You’ll continue on to the Shrine of Remembrance, where you’ll take a moment to observe and reflect before taking in the stunning views of the city.
As you reach the end of the tour, you’ll run along the Yarra River before finishing at a riverside cafe for a post-run coffee as the mist rises off the water. This 8 kilometre tour is suitable for runners of all levels and operates daily at 7:00am.

You’ll start at Federation Square and make your way through the city, stopping to learn about the crimes and misdeeds of Frederick Deeming, Squizzy Taylor, Eddie Leonski, and Ned Kelly. You’ll hear about their exploits and how they became infamous figures in Melbourne’s criminal underworld.
