Learn about the striking dolerite columns on the Tasman Peninsula from a geologist and see them from a different perspective on a boat cruise. Immerse yourself in some of the most spectacular coastlines on this multi-day, pack-free hiking adventure. Walk on top of the Southern Hemisphere’s highest sea cliffs, cruise around dramatic dolomite rock formations rising from the ocean, lunch on a white sand beach alongside turquoise waters and enjoy a guided wine tasting at an award winning winery.

Departing from Hobart, this day adventure takes you along the southernmost road in Australia so you can explore the highlights of this stunning region.

Discover why our island was once referred to as the Apple Isle as you drive through the many orchards. We drive along the tranquil Huon River and through the historic riverside village of Franklin which still honours the traditional craft of building wooden boats.

Head underground at Hastings Caves with a specialist guide to get the low-down on the dramatic dolomite cave, one of only two of its kind in Australia. Warm up with a dip in the 28-degree swimming pool fed by thermal springs. During October to April, we enjoy lunch at the charming Kermandie Hotel before embarking to Tahune Adventures.

From water to sky, walk high amongst the treetops at Tahune Adventures. See some of the oldest trees living trees in Australia on the Huon Pine Trail, swing across a river on the swinging bridge, and walk 50 metres above the forest floor on the Tahune airwalk.

Head to the heart of Tasmania on this bespoke three-day experience. This is no ordinary tour. On this relaxed epicurean and informative adventure you will gain deeper insight into what makes Tasmania unique.

Walk through ancient forest with an ecologist, discover the history of the Southern Highlands with an historian, enjoy a chef-prepared fireside meal then unravel the mystery of the glittering universe on a Night Sky Tour with an astronomer.

Warm up by the crackling fire at Rathmore Farm, the cosy historic accommodation where we will stay during the experience. A sheep property settled in 1828, this is authentic country living at its best and the ideal base to explore the Central Highlands. Hearty and delicious gourmet dinners are included with Tasmanian wine or delicious homemade non-alcoholic beverages enjoyed by the fireside.

David will take you to some of his favourite photography hotspots (for sunrise, landscape, wildlife and night skies photography) and he will help you gain confidence to create your own photographic masterpieces wherever you travel. We’ll also enjoy some of Tasmania’s finest wine and cuisine along the way.
