Visit Venture North’s very comfortable Cobourg Coastal Camp overlooking the picturesque waters of the NT’s only Marine Park. This exclusive camp is located in the Garig Gunak Barlu National Park (Cobourg Peninsula) and provides the perfect base to explore the surrounding regions. Soak up the unspoilt wilderness areas, abundant wildlife, Indigenous and European history, great fishing and much more.

Venture North Australia focuses on high quality, remote four-wheel drive expeditions and tours throughout northern Australia. Areas of operation includes Arnhem Land, Cobourg Peninsula, Kakadu National Park, Litchfield National Park and the Katherine region.
Individually designed itineraries are tailor made to suit a wide range of travellers from individuals, special interest groups, educational travel or family holidays. Regular departure programs also operate from Darwin to Kakadu, Arnhem Land and the Cobourg Peninsula. Accommodation can vary from tent camping, permanent safari camp, accommodated or a combination of all.
Indicative rate for the private charter tour is based on a starting day rate.

After departing Kakadu National Park, you’ll enter Arnhem Land and continue on to the community of Gunbalanya (Oenpelli) to firstly visit the community art centre. From here you’ll be joined by an Aboriginal guide for a private tour around the spectacular Injalak Hill rock art sites before continuing on to the Garig Gunak Barlu National and Marine Park on the Cobourg Peninsula. Explore this pristine region from the comforts of Venture North’s permanent safari camp, the Cobourg Coastal Camp.
In all of these areas you travel access is restricted to a limited few which allows you to witness some of the best remote wilderness, Aboriginal rock art, cultural and heritage experiences, and fishing in northern Australia, all with plenty of wildlife and stunning scenery and away from the crowds.

After a morning cruise on Corrroboree Billabong the five day tour takes you through some of the highlights of Kakadu National Park including Maguk, Ubirr art sites and Nawulandja Lookout before continuing on into the true wilderness of Arnhem Land. Visit the Gunbalanya (Oenpelli) community for an Aboriginal guided tour around the Injalak Hill rock art sites and community arts centre, before journeying through Arnhem Land and onto the Cobourg Peninsula and the Garig Gunak Barlu National and Marine Park.
Here Venture North have their own permanent safari accommodation known as the Cobourg Coastal Camp and situated on the shoreline overlooking Port Essington. Take a cruise down to one of northern Australia’s first attempts of European habitation visiting the ruins of Victoria Settlement. Explore Cobourg Peninsula, the world’s first internationally renowned wetlands of importance through RAMSAR, and take the time to relax and explore a true wilderness environment.
