Rusty Miller Surf has specialised in private surfing instruction in Byron Bay since 1973. Rusty has been teaching people a unique method of how to learn to teach themselves. Rusty, and his daughter Taylor, see surfing more as art or culture than sport. This philosophy is explained during your lesson while sliding over the water off Cape Byron.
If you have experienced surfboard riding, then Rusty and Taylor are the ideal local surf coaches to gently introduce you to this special world and way of life. It is much more than just standing up and riding a wave to the beach, although you will be doing plenty of that.
Rusty Miller Surf is the only licensed surf operator in Byron Shire allowed to instruct at Wategos Beach, in the lee of the lighthouse.
Sessions are fun and invigorating, emphasising safety procedures while expanding your water knowledge.
Services
From $130 to $150
Byron Bay lessons are usually conducted at The Pass beach and early starts are preferred as this usually ensures best surf and traffic conditions.
All equipment is provided and lesson is approximately two hours long.
