Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park

Historical Sites and Heritage Locations

Uluṟu-Kata Tjuṯa National Park is named after two of Australia’s most spectacular sites: the world-famous sandstone monolith of Uluṟu and the red domes of Kata Tjuṯa.

Our dual World Heritage-listed park is in the heart of the Central Australian desert, about 450 km from Alice Springs.

The land is owned by the Aṉangu people and leased to Parks Australia, who manage the national park in collaboration with the traditional owners. The nearby Ayers Rock Resort at Yulara provides accommodation, restaurants, shops, fuel and other essential services to park visitors.

As well as its world-famous geological formations and extraordinary Indigenous culture, the park is home to a fascinating array of plants and animals, including many rare species.

From mind-blowing rock formations to endless vistas, from soaring domes to unbelievable crevices and rock art paintings, our walking tracks are the ideal way to discover the hidden features of the park.

Most of the tracks are wheelchair accessible and range from easy to moderate.

You’ll need a park pass, which you can pre-purchase online for quick and easy entry.
