This tour takes you to the Opal fields around 70 kilometres from Lightning Ridge. You will be go to all three unique bush pubs out there (Club in the Scrub, Glengarry Hilton and Sheepyard Inn) and the Sheepyard community war memorial and museum at Lake Beard. Fossicking (or like the locals say specking for opals) is trying to find your own unique souvenir to take home. The guide will show and explain what our opal miners are doing to find these precious gem stones and whats involved in opal mining. This tour is like stepping back in time a few decades and will show you this very different world out there. Part of the tour is Devonshire morning tea and lunch (drinks at pubs at your own expense). This tour is a must for everyone who wants to experience the real deal opal mining experience and comes highly recommended by fellow travellers.
