The village of Mount Tomah is located approximately 40 kilometres west of Richmond, on the Bells Line of Road. The peak of Mount Tomah is 1,016 metres above sea level.
Blue Mountains Botanic Garden was established here in 1972. Sandstone woodlands and gullies rest upon a basalt cap making it possible to grow cool climate plants from around the world.
